Preparation for Sunday Worship:

• Pray for God to illuminate the truth of His word and apply it to your own heart.
• Read Hebrews 13 from start to finish in one sitting
• Read Hebrews 13:9-14 five additional times

1. Identify at least three key words in this passage? Why are these words important to the meaning of the text?
2. Identify the verbs and find their tense (past, present, etc..) and voice (active / passive / middle)?
3. What conclusions can you draw from the verb tense and voice?
4. Summarize this passage, in your own words, into one sentence.

Small Group Questions 

1. What are some of the ways we are tempted to fall into legalism?
2. What are some of the ways we are tempted to fall into antinomianism?
3. How can we effectively guard ourselves against these two dangers?
4. Discuss the proper balance of being strengthened by grace and obeying
God. How do we know if we are serving God to try and earn His grace and love
vs. being strengthened to serve Him because, in Christ, we have already
received His grace and love?

• What is God teaching you about Himself from His Word, and how is your life
different/changing as a result?
• How have you seen God answering prayer? What are you praying for?
• How is god using you in the process of evangelism to draw people up Himself?
• What sins has God revealed to you so that you might repent of them? In light of
grace realities, what must that repentance look like?
